a trick with some treats

Happy Birthday TO ME!  So my birthday is ON Halloween, i had one person ask "is it on Halloween EVERY YEAR?"
ummm, no comment.   but readers, I am so happy to say EVERY halloween is my birthday...
i am old but better than ever!!!
we had a wonderful day.  Thought i would share some snaps of my little treats which were more like TRICKs late night while getting them bathed and tucked in.... Good Grief!
we had to wake some of our little goblins up, Can you tell?  And yes, we took a trip to our local barbershop on Saturday, these should last us a COUPLE months and at 20 dollars a cut, they SHOULD.
these were some of my most favorite heroes of all...
thats Ironman, Spiderman, & Batman.... Superman was still on the porch at this time.
Our partay began at 3 o'clock, and we were quite literally fashionably late in our hero duds... Heroes are IN incase you are wondering...they are everywhere!  which makes my life a little harder to get out of ANY store these days without a crying fit.... Thank you Fashionistas for that little trick.
the band was wonderful, the smoke coming out of the house and up from the shrubs was "so cool" too according to my big 5 and 2 year old... MOKE mama, SHHOOO moke!
some fun make it yourself treats....
design your own cupcake or sugar cookie,,,,
"oh how "sweet" boys, do y'all want to decorate a cookie?"
boys?  boys? (i was down to 2 boys at this point...2 seconds after arriving)
"hey, lets make cookies, want too?"
Uh no mama, can you just bring me one later, i am going to jump.....
cookie, cookie, mims mims... (that is COOKIE NOW and handfull of m&ms- no need to stick them together just shovel them in)
needless to say we did NOT decorate but DID consume a WHOLE lot..... we are not into art, heck, we can not even stay still to place CANDY onto COOKIES....
this excited look what glued to my monkey's face ALL night.  It was a fun filled Halloween for him and i loved to watch it go down....
a hayride full of heros....
and in the corner a princess
keep in mind this is 5 minutes after arriving and YES, we arrived IN shoes.... Now where are our shoes?
our daddies kept the beer cold and stuck around so the band didn't get lonely; atleast 2 outta 3 held tight to their punkin's pumpkin totes....
And BACK to the cookie table please sir.
i was a oh so thankful mama that we had policemen at each street end so my heroes were somewhat contained seeing how NO ONE wants to be with their mama and daddy, NOT even the baby. sniff sniff.  but i conversed with some adults and held tight to THEIR BABIES which was so nice.
And in the left ear i hear a dad say "who is that?  he just shoved Oliver?"
"Oh, you know, that is the smith's middle child, Sam.
"and then hear sam say "NO BAT MAAAAN"
He is one of 3 boys TOO."
Too was the main word there, seeing how Oliver is one of FOUR boys... I think they feel right at home tackling, shoving, stomping on un-shoed toes, laughing all the while... so i had to say
"Hey, Amy Smith, so sorry about that" (and after that introduction, i had NOTHING, no reason why my child is that way, just a sincere apology and the other mama says NO they are playing, SEE!.....
And i got to lay eyes on another favorite boy outta the 2 boys in his family ( i must gravitate towards boy moms)... The other stinky one, clearly turning 13 this thursday was NO WHERE NEAR us.... He was vandalizing the flats of crestline i feel for sure!  All part of the Halloween experience i guess.
i do NOT want to know why this hug is happening, but KNOW for a fact it was NOT a moment of love more a moment of
"shhh don't cry and 'cause a fuss, i will give it back or won't do it again"
And as long as i don't HEAR them, i am okay with them working it out the best they can..
is that a bad strategy?
while loving on my "peas"
where are your boys?
boys? boys?
well, there is MY baby following the adorable puppy of course and at the time i looked over he was sharing a bit of apple juice, literally holding his sippy cup up and the dog was drinking it....
Its nice to share, RIGHT?  And being my third baby, i can honestly say, i didn't say a word or walk over and wipe it off... Work with us immune system and this is my child who is NEVER sick....EVER!  i had faith and he wanted a new dog....
here are my favorite peas in pods... These are some of our bestest who have been a wee bit busy lately and we miss them like crazy!  I will be honest and say "i am so mad at you already if you don't show up on the plains to play this weekend"  I get the feeling new babies x 2 are a little busy and time consuming and feel that mama's pain of not wanting to feel bad for TWO weeks afterwards.
From past experience it is NO FUN AT ALL taking care of babies when you are not up to PAR on your energy level or feel good.  but i can still hold on to hope that i see your shining face.
And our newly engaged friends showed up with a date in mind, all the way from hotlanta.  CONGRATS to them being cute as EVER!
And our 10 weeks from baby friends were there and i can't wait to hold their baby as it will be beautiful with beautiful parents to match!!!!
And if that trough would have fit in my pocket i was taking it HOME with me....but admit it does look good on my friends coffee table.
determined that my children would eat Dinner or something close to it, i set up my little lamb a picnic by the band and grabbed two more hotdogs and hunted down the other two and held it while making them run back and forth taking bites at a time.... From past experience we need food NOT just candy!
And i hear "um, Amy how old are your little boys again?"
me:  WHY? (because the tone of her sweet voice led me to believe something was wrong)
Her: because my little joe is his age too and he is just now walking.... your baby is back there climbing a wall with thirteen year olds......
Me:  oh, i know they are part monkey and sighed relief they were not in trouble.... we are used to the this!
sun goes down and the boys re-suit up.
And my BIG HUGE 5 year old had to trick or treat with some buddies, NOT his mom & dad... so off he goes (fyi: there was ONE lone daddy to make sure no one grabbed them)
we took our little boys with also much preferred miss missy (or MIIIIIIIIISSSSSS  CEEEE) to walked with them.
as parents we failed to go over the "rules" of trick or treating...
1. SAY trick or treat (oh wait you can't talk!)
2. ONLY take ONE piece
3. we don't eat it until we get home
4. say thank you and happy halloween
OR
no one said trick or treat, mylittle lamb demanded the WHOLE pumpkin bucket....
and when it was something familiar to him, my middle baby said "TWO peas"
then sat down right then & there to EAT it.... why not?
note to mom & dad:   you must work on your pumpkin carving skills for sure.... WOW!

And that is where i found my most favorite spiderman.... who was equally excited to see me?  or NOT.
then the big boys took off to dance in the bands "crazy" lights
note to readers.... you can not see the lights in the picture but they WERE THERE i promise!
And the daddy, the chaperone one, says "Charlie wanted to rush back!  He said he has got to get to his Big Daddy?  That his big daddy is probably waiting for him on the interstate?"
My biggest baby adores his big daddy and had been away from him all of 3 or 4 hours but had to get back....
"we have some trick or treating to do mom, Can YOU PUHLEASE TAKE ME TO BIG DADDY's house"
and on the way over
"hey mom, what did you get for your birthday?  Did you like card i made you?  uuummm (a little hesitant voice) mom????"
Me: hey buddy
HiM: you are NOT going to stay are you, can you just drop me off on big daddy's driveway?
ME: well, i may want to see big daddy too and i want to come in for a minute
HiM: mom, i just want it to be us .... Please don't stay.
Lucky for me big daddy ask me to man his trick or treaters while they were gone but as SOON as they returned "mom, can you leave now!"
And so i did.  But i had to get home to bath my babies anyway and indulge in some chocolate no less.
My boys love their big daddy.... They played, hiked, attended "big" church together (only my monkey would chose to come all the way home, get dressed, and then go to big daddy's BIG LONG have to be still church instead of his sunday school class with his friends) the whole Halloween day.... so sweet and that allowed me to get STUFF done.... which has piled up the WHOLE month of OCTOBER... finally i catch a break.... i hope!!!
sneaking up on his big daddy.... more excited than you know.

AND WITHOUT any hesitation.... CAN I SAY THANK YOU.  thank you. THANK YOU. dearest friends & family....
I FINALLY PICKED UP MY CELL PHONE in the wee bedtime hour and smiled at my many singing friends, my sweet messages, emails, text, etc. etc. etc.

Y'all are the absolute BEST THERE EVER WAS!!!!
I miss you all like crazy if i didn't get a chance to see you and don't feel left out, i did NOT pick up my phone all day, i don't even remember where it was.... we had a full day but i am ever so grateful to have friends like you... ALL of YOU!  my love over floweth for each one of you all for your own little ways!!!! thank you for being the best there ever was

hope you had a happiest halloween like me and kept all your goblins safe and sound....
