Okay wait. Let me brief you. In the spring i ask Charlie if he would do swim lessons with his soccer/t-ball coach and learn to REALLY swim. The only thing in this whole wide world he
BRIBE him like no other!!!!
So spring came and went (way way too fast) and monkey has been swimming like a little edible fish, jumping off the diving board alone, you know...."like the big boys" he idols, which has made him beg for water each and everyday in TOTAL FEAR he may dry out...... Needless to say, we are so proud of him but i never followed through with the bribe.... My boys are not easily bribed which makes it tricky. No fun food treat works but WHAT DOES send them OVER THE MOON is anything for outside.....
So while at the lake awhile back, monkey spotted a "new" improved scooter his 13 year old friend was enjoying and was totally in love! so i was telling his beloved daddy about it that night and if i don't recall, i heard LOUD and CLEAR
"well, i am SURE he will get it, if its up to you"
So yes readers, i came home and searched for this new whiplash, street surfer scooter for my little monkey. He adores his scooters: as a toddler the three wheeled razor, as a 4 year old he flies around on the 2 wheeled razor, but NOW we are owners of the whiplash scooter which is like a rip stick with handle bars...... He lives on his scooter and bike when he is not in some body of water..... so i justify it by saying "its the only toys he plays with and the only rewards he enjoys plus i am PROUD Of him"
and when it rolled in from Mr. Mike, our delivery guy whom we adore, I over heard daddyc
"you know Charlie, when i was a little boy, i NEVER got special things, I didn't have anything like this. I didn't get as much for Easter, or anything for accomplishments. I didn't ever have any of the special things you always get. You are so spoiled and very lucky."
i may possibly have rolled my eyes with my back turned....
dear daddyc,
you didn't get things like the whiplash scooter BECAUSE they were not around back then! And if i know your mom, our mimi, you aunts, etc. YOU GOT WAY MORE THAN YOU SHARE.

Then looks my way
"ya know we don't have to buy them things all the time"
Let me finish with... Daddyc is the furthest thing from DEPRIVED, as he makes it sound, that i know.... He was very spoiled, NOT a brat by a long shot, but did in fact receive more than his share of cool, new toys as they arrived in stores.... NOT saying i didn't...... and to defend myself, as i feel i should, I never leave the stores with toys in their little sticky hands, i don't just buy them random things all the time.... but for once a lifetime accomplishments i like to treat them and i will admit, we have big christmas and big Easter and a little Valentines, been known to get a "start to school in the fall surprise...think very very small" They only learn to swim ONCE, right? thank you. And here i sit blogging while my precious early bird is ALREADY out on the street riding his scooter at 6:00 a.m. Worth it times a million.
