well, our weekend was par with BUSY...as usual. My monkey and his big daddy took off for the "boat" show and their own fun, Mimi came to play with little ones while daddyc and i celebrated all "fancy" with friends. We "made" it to sunday school and "made it" IS very much appropriate use of a word, most all of our hair was wet, from COLD water, when 5 people shower at once our hot water heater apparently get a little tired and QUITS, then "someone" usually the oldest complains about how stiff, scratchy, or "too fancy" his first two options of outfits are....but alas, we made it and had a wonderful lesson!! Church followed by a southern lunch enough to last a week, followed by taking the OLDER of the three boys to see their first movie..... I think they got their UN-love of movie going from me. After the previews my middle baby, "alright lets go home" and afterwards "charlie did you like your first movie?"
"yes mom, but i loved riding my scooter down big daddy's enormous hill" and EVEN later that night in bed "so, Sam didn't you love getting to go see a movie with big people"
"no mama, it was too dark, i couldn't see"
SO....
11.75 a person + about 50 dollars worth of drinks, popcorn & everyone's "own" candy + very underwhelmed boys = a lesson learned by me.... Save $100 and walk a step OUTSIDE to play!!!
My littlest lamb very very much enjoyed his Sunday... Spent with big daddy which pars to the BEST day in the world... Was there ever this much love?
On Saturday he thought if he gets his shoes and coat on and stands my his big daddy's back car door SURELY he would NOT leave him behind this time..... Looking back, that was really really sad but it was his nap time and he would not have made a fun date for a boat show, or would he have?
Anyway, we tried out a new recipe followed by my dad's neighbor, our dear friend, bringing a warm cooked chocolate chip pound cake.... it was heaven on Earth!!!! Thank you x 6 for everything you always do Mrs. Van! And i got see FINALLY see Cody, her new puppy.... My littlest of boys and i LOVE LOVE LOVE a puppy any and all the time!!!!!
Another highlight of my middle baby's weekend was a gymnastics birthday for one of his little friends. I don't speak of his little edible friends much, they are JUSt NOW approaching the age where you go play at another's house NO mom included and he thinks all his big brothers friends are HIS friends so i just have not really put out the effort. So let me introduce.
oh and i love the idea of boys AND girls too of course in gymnastics... What is NOT to love? I loved gymnastics and tried to get all three of mine enrolled for the spring with no luck on open classes.....
if you have been following "us" for awhile, you probably know this little angel... i claim her as one of my own.... And i really almost ate her she looked so cute in her leotard on Saturday!!! Sam loves this little girl almost more than me and their presence comforts the other one in different settings which is so sweet to me.
this trampoline was the length of the room, i really kinda wanted to jump too but refrained, your welcome!!
And this is another of their little posse` and just happened to be the birthday girl too!
And this is one of the two boys my middle baby talks of all the time.... This little guy is also a LOVER of super heros too, well; he is really partial to buzz lightyear and just may wear his buzz t-shirt "almost" everyday which makes him that much more special. That and the fact he will randomly tell his busy mama, "mama, i neeeeeeed you" in the sweetest voice where i want to scoop him up and give him the world. He too, is a middle of THREE boys. So i guess they were almost meant for one another. wink wink.
My little gymnast had so much fun i really think i will give another gym a shot at lining up a class for him..... But after much talk of my big almost BIG SCHOOL going child, i realized how very short our summers and fun in the sun is going to be and our time will be really pressed.... I sense stress that we can't fit it all in...eeeekkkk!!
And on another note: If there is ONE thing i can predict and KNOW about my middle child is.....
He takes no fuss, NO frills, NO being silly, etc. etc. He doesn't want me to dance, sing, or want either brother in his face or messing with him.....OR ELSE!!!
So when we all sang loudly to this angel i noticed my child covered his ears. Its ALWAYS something with this child..... Usually something that makes ME want to cover my EYES!!!!
And after hugging the birthday princess and saying our good-bye... i say " was that a yummy yummy cupcake" and with a very loud voice
"NO, NO i didn't like it mom"
dear self,
you are better than that.
You KNOW not to ask your middle child that type of LOADED question in front of others....
Like i mentioned before, no frills, no beating around the bush, BRUTAL honesty and "real" words, nothing cutesy or fake from this one.
until next time.....
