where there is smoke....

there is FIRE. 

  Daddyc, God love him and so do i, isn't very "backwoods" if you will.   

TOTAL and almost 100% city boy..... Don't get me wrong, he will stay in the woods for days, IN A WARM CAMP house, and stand in BELOW freezing water in the rain to shoot birds....but when it comes to just "things".... i usually call my Dad-  

Is your dad like that? 

 I swear my dad can do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING- 

Anyway, we have been LOVING building fires all week and this morning Daddyc already has us a roaring fire, some cartoons, and hot cinnamon rolls (yes, he is the absolute BEST ever!)..... but earlier in the week, well, you know when it was in the freezing temps. we attempted our first FIRE of the season and ended up even colder, the smoke filled the house, the smoke alarm was going off, we opened all doors, woke the kids up......... YAY!!!!  now we are like "camping" 

(sidenote: i am NOT a camper in the furthest form; NOT even in a camper house thing on wheels....) 

 now its so cold INside the house..... But here we are Friday morning, a week long later, and after our big daddy came to show us to let it burn and warm up, then OPEN the chimney thing to let the Smoke OUT of the house.... we got it!!!  

No, we normally ONLY do our fires in the afternoon, if i am home for good with no where to go and ALwAYs at night..... we are a fire lovn' family!!!  

And thanks to big daddy we ONLY have smoke in the fireplace.   Oh. and our toilet was nearly running away, it ran for oh about a month or TWO and after atleast two mortgage type payments to the water company, our big daddy came to spent oh. 30 seconds on it, and wa la, we have a new and improved WORKING potty.... Our house is VERY VERY old but new too.... whole nother post. but we have a toilet and chimney from the 50's or earlier, sometimes i LOVE them, sometimes i don't.....  we also have a leak in our roof, and guess where its leaking.  ON MY SHOES in my closet.... Guess, i have to get new ones....  wink wink.  Darn leak!!!

dear readers,

we built or re-built this house last year and we just got really close to our architect and builder and builders go-to-man.  Our architect actually called us all week and said "he missed us" and our builder and Daddyc talk all the time.... kinda weird but they are part of us and our house.  I am secretly getting quotes for an outdoor fireplace from ole' Gabby right now.....eeekk!!!!

Christmas is RIGHT around the corner right... that and a lotto ticket. wink wink

Anyway, long non-sense post about ME later.... I have been balancing house "stuff", and me "stuff", and enjoying the cooler weather with the boys all week.......  One of my favorite boys turned 13.... i didn't know they could get that old. sniff sniff.   we went to enjoy his cake EVEN though it was an Alabama Football one... We are not bad fans and love our Alabama fans too!   

we were all glad my monkey dressed up for the partay.... when you are this close to a family, you don't really care what you look like nor do you even notice....thats the best part!!!!

I think my biggest baby just HIT my middle on the head, and it looks like my middle is giving him about 10 seconds before he shoves him off the stool fair and square....i don't recall the outcome of this?

i love this one.  these are the best boys EVER, and the best role models for my boys i can find.
