thank you russell land corp. for developing your bajillion miles of land into a true dream for me and my crew....... they for sure paid it forward, now all they have to do is Hand it OVER to ME!!!
On the flip side of our weekend.... we spent OUTSIDE.... We are lake lovers even in the fall and winter months too and just find 'stuff' to do around the lake house.... just "stuff"!
and not far behind....
how can you NOT love the lake even in the fall? *i overheard a lady ask another lady while working out today... "you did WHAT?" "what do you do at the lake in November?"* it was NOT my conversation, so i just smiled and kept about my business....... likewise when they began speaking about her colon cleanse or test or whatever..... Poor old soul probably NEEDS to spend more time at the lake in the fall if she doesn't know..... or around a calm body of water with nothing but the woods....and no where to go with the ones you love the most!
preface: we split and ended up man on man coverage for the boys.... i got this one pictured the most... I was the LUCKY one!!!
thats fine sam, but don't get your shoes wet, thats the only ones mama brought you and we are going to go down to the stables later on. "ok mama, i won't get my shoes wet"
just my shoes, socks, most all my pants, and shirt sleeves.... but look at how COOL my hands look....
i didn't say a word, helped him de-robe and have his fun in the sun. There is nothing like watching your boys & dogs play outdoors whatever it takes to get smiles like that and i found if you sit back, the smiles like that come often with NO cost and NO entertainment whatsoever.... just some mud, dirt, maybe some water, a cool breeze, their dogs, Simplicity is a beautiful thing!
Note: i did NOT say we live a simple life but i did say we all LOVE the simple way of life and need it more so than not..... Thank you God x 3.
lake house in November..... flag still flies high!
our watch dog. Not the first one after the ball anymore, but laid back enough to not care who wins that battle of the tennis ball... Thats why i love him so!
1 bucket, 2 buckets, 3 buckets... oh my goodness where did you get all those buckets and why are you carrying them around like that. wink wink.
at the lake; there are NO rules as to when you must change from your pjs.... you can wear them all darn day if you so chose... This monkey so chose!
whats the lake in november without a FIRE?
Gosh, look at those angels... where is their mama? both half dressed, no shoes, playn' in the fire.....i mean....
now to the title of the post... Pay it Forward oh ye Russell Land Owners....
he was actually really really excited... the picture does not show it though, huh? Not so much about the real turkey as much as the whole show.
look close and you can see daddyc and the other two boys back in the blacksmith shop....
And after a QUICK bite to eat... quick being the key word... when you eat with my brood its a quick thing similar to one of those hot dog eating contest kinda....
my angelic baby hiked close to the whole way, my middle child's legs DO NOT work well on long or short distances, no stroller will do, just some arms and just recently a pair of shoulders on occasion... RINSE AND REPEAT... NOTHING is easy about this child.....
Hence the nickname Hornet (No NOT in real life, just in blog life)
My mom used to say "well, when he sleeps more, he will be better"
"when he can eat cereal, when he can sit up, when he can crawl, he is just bored, when he can walk, when he can talk & tell you what he wants, when he understands"
i would call my bestest and let her LISTEN (she was far away...) and her comment at times would be "whats wrong with him?"
Guess What? I think its how he is... I should have known from day ONE or less than...
"Amy, how should we handle all the fluid on your child's lungs and what do you want the NICU to do about this and that?" (he was born early due to some issues)
not worried a bit, i guess mom's instinct kicked in, i said "i just don't know" and LOW AND BEHOLD the Hornet bulled through birth with not a SINLGE little tiny thing wrong and as a tired mama i sent him to the nursery.... WHAT DO YOU KNOW? The Damn nurse brought him BACK....
i was walking the halls, gabbing on my cell phone (they told me walking was quicker recovery and i knew i had a 2 year old waiting on me at home with his daddy)
"Mrs. Smith" " mRs. smith, we have your baby, i think he is hungry or just wants his mama"
AND THAT IS THIS CHILD to a T and why i could not love any ounce of his being anymore.... He is TRULY one of a kind....
how could you NOT love that angel.
The beloved horse stable...
i talked of how i would LOVE to have those sliding barn doors INSIDE my house and daddyc ignored me and talked of how he is going to build a box and grow tomatoes next year in a raised bed.. You know, because we eat them ALL the time?? or not. they were growing peppers in their raised bed.
this is bit of a re-cap post... but Daddyc had never been and so i decided to repeat blog on our adventure.
its hard to see how truly HUGE some of these horses were, but in the photo below, my dad stands about 6 feet or a inch or two more and that horse towers him!
we had a lesson from big daddy that "cats too can be nice"
"hey mama, can we get a NICE kitty?"
No, sweetie, we can't. Baylor & Tucker don't like them. it was just that easy.
and normally i DO so love all furry things, But cats are so sneaky to me... i can't tell what they are going to do next.... attack me, pounce on my face, or attack one of the children... Who is the adult here? in my defense, also seen at the gym this morning, while ease dropping on womens conversations and tv watching, gosh did i even workout? CNN showed a story about a DAMN ALLIGATOR about to prey on a kitty cat when the cat turned around all sneaky like cats do and scared a HUGE alligator back into the swamp... That is real stuff. See its not me, its 2 ton alligators too! Cats are crazy! just try to load one up to take to the vet, you'll see. crazy.
.on that red dirt road.
spring house from the side
spring house from the back
and after seeing some dear friends waltz out with their baby and seeing the OUTSIDE tables... i think we can spring for the Spring House one day soon???
and while distracted and chatting with old friends, my boys climbed the nearest 6 foot rock....
and how can you NOT tackle one another in a lawn that looks like that....
there was a troll UNDER the bridge and then there was a
pig in a house....
and lastly a WOLF to blow that house DOWN!
